Welcome to the SHEPHERD AND DOG in the beautiful village of Langham, on the
Essex/Suffolk border, in Constable country. Built 1928 this FREE
House is an excellent example of an English village public house.
Featuring a well appointed bar with a wide variety of REAL ALES, LAGERS and
BEERS, augmented on occasion by GUEST ALES from a variety of breweries.
A broad selection of SPIRITS, SOFT DRINKS and FRUIT JUICES along with an
outstanding WINE LIST, with wines supplied by Nethergate Wines of Clare Suffolk.
For those who prefer a hot drink we also serve TEA and COFFEE.

The SHEPHERD AND DOG is widely renowned for its excellent
food of outstanding quality.
Serving an extensive variety of MEAT, FISH AND POULTRY DISHES, far to numerous
to list, a VEGETARIAN SELECTION and a recently added CHILDREN'S MENU.
We have seating for around 75 people in all areas including the bar area and our
RESTAURANT (non-smoking). Weather permitting you may prefer to enjoy your meal 'al
fresco' in our BEER GARDEN.
If you wish to eat in the RESTAURANT then it is recommended that you first book
your table to avoid any disappointment. Bookings can be made on (+44)
01206 272711.
The restaurant has a limited number of highchairs available for young children. When
booking please let us know if you require a highchair for your child and we
shall do our best to provide one for you.
We can also host special sit-down occasions, such as wedding
receptions, Christening celebrations or wakes, telephone with your requirements
and we will do our best to accommodate your party. Unfortunately we cannot
host buffets.
Here at SHEPHERD AND DOG, with its friendly atmosphere and the highest
standards of service and courtesy, we know that you will enjoy your visit so
much that when you leave you will want to return at the earliest opportunity,
and should something be not quite right, tell us at the time, as we're the ones
